What Previous
Volunteer who have Teached in Nepal has meant to me
23 February 2002
Dear Surendra, fellow teachers and students,
Thank you for allowing me the opportunity of a lifetime to be part of
your school over the past five months.
I have learnt the joy and happiness that teaching children can bring. It
was surprising to me that the children had such a good understanding of
English. It has been a pleasure to teach them some aspects of my culture
and learnt so much about theirs. I gained many experiences and learnt to
love so much of Nepal through the children.
The teachers were also very welcoming and I have made some lifetime
friends from many members of the school family.
To Surendra, keep up the good and important work that you are doing in
the school. The children, being the future of Nepal, are a credit to
you! Nepal needs bright and educated young people. My volunteering
experience has been a very fruitful and happy one and it is with sadness
that I leave. Only for now, though, as I intend to come back regularly!
Love, Sharon
