Thank you for having me in your school. It was only 1 week, but I’m really glad I had this wonderful experience in Nepal. All the teachers and children made me feel very welcomed since the first time I came just to visit ……, and that made me want to spend some time with you all I did not have much confect with the big children and their teachers, but I can say I had a great time with the nursery or kindergarten children’s and their teachers. I think everybody is doing a very good job; the children are very lucky to have you on their teachers.

Thank you all of the school, teachers and students, for making my time have a happy one. It has been a pleasure to teach children with those smiling faces. This has been an experience I will never forget.

I have been very impressed by the children’s English language skills. Through Surendra the founder principal and god father to all here, these students have a very good head start in life.

I am so happy I got the chance to share the laughter and joy the students showed.

Today I sadly come to the end of what has been the experience of a lifetime-all be it a painfully short one (just 2 weeks Not long enough)

It has been a pleasure teaching here and being a part of this fantastic school. Never have I sensed such a warm, happy atmosphere amongst both students and staff. It is really quick extraordinary to see what Surendra has achieved here and I’m sure will continue to go on to achieve Surendra (Mr. Humble himself) is quite inspirational and words cannot thank him and his family enough for opening that doors and their hearts to

Even though I came to this school to teach I now feel more like a student. I have learned so much here. From teachers just as well as from all the students.

Leaving today I feel like being at the end of an inspiring, exciting and very interesting lesson. A lesson of life where all of you were wonderful teachers to me. I have many things to think about and take hove now.

I came to Nepal having visited twice for treks on Machhapuchare and Everest. I had visited Thimi and the school and when Surendra, the headmaster asked me to teach as a volunteer I happily agreed. I had never lived in Asia before and was immediately fascinated by the hustle and bustle of everyday life, the mass of good being sold in the street and the architecture of the houses, especially the beautiful wooden carved windows in Thimi.

If I had come to Nepal and just trekked I would be a very happy person with dreams of returning some day to do some more trekking in those beautiful mountains. But following up my treks with volunteer teaching has added a dimension and joy to my life that I find hard to describe.

Thank you for allowing me the opportunity of a lifetime to be part of your school over the past five months.

I have learnt the joy and happiness that teaching children can bring. It was surprising to me that the children had such a good understanding of English. It has been a pleasure to teach them some aspects of my culture and learnt so much about theirs.
