Both Parents work for others. His grand parents live in the remote village . He is in class Four . He is a disable boy as his one leg has no feet by birth. He likes drawing and dancing . His favourite subject is English. His mother goes to the Temple to pray every morning.
He lives with his family in near Thimi which is 8 kilometres from the capital, Kathmandu. Thimi is traditionally where pottery, mask making and farming are the main employment. Potters have their wheels outside their homes and dry the pots in the sun. When there are dry enough they surround them with straw and ash making a ‘haystack’. This is then lit and the mound smolders for three to four days to fire the pots. As machine pots are now sold cheaply and not so many clay pots are sold villagers are making furniture and looking for other employment. Farming is another occupation. Vegetables and rice are grown in the very fertile soil and the farmers get the early morning bus to sell their produce in the market in Kathmandu or to big hotels. There are two carpet factories in Thimi and the owners are doing their best to give workers a healthy environment to live in with medical aid when needed.

Your sponsorship allows him to be continued his study and enables him to stay in education until his 15th birthday. This is very important as in Nepal particularly young boys and girls leave school at 12 years of age to look after other siblings or grandparents and they therefore does not get the opportunity to have successful employment or go on to further education. Some of our students have already finished high school education and are studying law, science, medicine, engineering and education. Your annual donation covers a full year’s education including a school uniform, exercise books and school bus service.
Our school also works closely with the local health centre to improve the general health in the community and we are doing our best to improve conditions in the local carpet factories.
Apart from annual sponsorship additional donations are warmly welcome to improve school resources such as laboratory equipment, library resources, educational toys, puzzles and games, and outdoor play equipment.
